Our first trip to Moors Valley Country Park in 2013 today, mainly to see the British Wildlife Exhibition (some cracking work there) but also to see if the Grebe had started performing yet.

As it was they were just starting to show a bit of "Mirroring" but weren't into their Dance Routine. They were, as usual, on the far side of the main lake (50- 100+ yds away at a guess) but at least the Tamron 500 gave me the chance to pull a bit of detail (these are still heavily cropped down to around 30% of the original frame)

Must go back next time the weather improves to see if they are any further on (I feel a bit like a "Voyeur" sometimes Grin )

thanks Colleen, that is of course what they ar doing.

Its the early stages of the courtship process which ends with an amazing "dance routine" which is what I want to capture (seen it several times but always at great distance)

I've added a couple more I've just processed as versions, a bit closer (30+ yards?) but the light was not so good (shooting toward instead of away from)
