...an image in my morning paper The Herald reminded me of an image I shot on a trip to the Island of Arran in the Clyde a couple of years ago. Ferry travel plays a huge part in the daily life of the west coast of Scotland.

That very true Dougie, and this captures reminds me of the hours spent on Ferries just recently.
Good details and a fine sky
Regards Richard.

This is a particularly satisfying sort of shot, the feeling of moving on... I remember last year standing at the rear end (sorry, stern) of a ferry that runs between the islands off the coast of Scleswig-Holstein, waiting for the wind to blow the flag out at the right angle. Your flag has cooperated very nicely.

I would not have thought to take this picture but its great and I like it a lot - freedom springs to mind. I get so sick on the water no matter how calmSad

Super clarity in this image. The reliance on ferries seems very much to be a west-coast 'thing' world-wide.

Bill

The wake makes for such an interesting shot, Dougie: funny we are posting images today from a similar part of the world.

Very strong image, Dougie, with the wake pulling the eye into the frame. Great depth to the image, too, with fine detail in this distant hills.

I always thought it fascinating for how long water keeps the shape... Super shot of this wonderful track at the back of the ferry.
