On October 2nd, 2010, over 175,000 people from and within several national American groups (including student democratic societies from the nearest campuses) gathered outside the Lincoln Memorial in Washington, D.C. to protest the government's practice and abuse of power during the current unstable economic climate. As a member of the UNC-Asheville Student Democratic Society, I was given a chance to head there via bus to capture photos of the event. The Washington Monument looms in the background as thousands swarm to declare in one loud voice the need for more jobs and improved social acceptance of several minorities. It was truly an epic experience that I will never forget! (Photo © Jeffrey DeCristofaro, Desert Eye Productions 2010. All Rights Reserved.)
