I love the simplicity of these photos, Marian. I prefer the color version.

Thank you Peter, I don't think B&W is good either, but I am sure someone will want to see it done.
It doesn't have enough contrast, it was not easy to shoot with so much light in the afternoon. I just loved the fan-like structure of the palm leaf.

I think you could make a beautiful picture from virtually anything, Marian.
Your inspiration shows clearly in this example.

Now... This is trully eye catching! Deserves my praise...
It makes an outstanting abstract and I like it a lot. (Colour for me because it has a hint of green... Grin)

Another great abstract with the colour version for me - I love varied shades in there and the converging lines.
You can such fun with these leaves.

Both have equal merits for me, Marian. v1 is all about the impact of the colour, but the mono puts emphasis on the lines and shapes for a graphic and more abstract presentation.

Thank you so much Chinga bella! Certainly I was not expecting an UA for this picture.
Thanks you all for the interesting comments on it, as I said at the moment I was attracted by the size and colors of this dying palm leaf.
Hugs for all from cool Caracas (the weather is pretty nice in spite of being August...)

Has to be colour for me; the captured colours make the image so interesting, a transition from vibrant green to vibrant orange.
