Good Morning to every one. I am so sorry and my heart is so broken. I have to say good bye to you all and the special people that you all have become.
To cut a very long story short, I cannot get a birth certificate or Passport to leave here and come back. I have tried now four times but unfortunately each time things go wrong. Now I have run out of funds and after many long trips to the Embassy they will not help me except for advice, most of this has been incorrect and has caused the situation I find myself in.

They cant even help to get my birth cert from the GRO in Southport Merseyside and I cant apply for an emergency pass port (or afford one) I am in the worst place in the world and am so frightened that my info and Images, cameras and computer will be stolen as I live for Photography and have all needed to write my book upon my return. I Beg with silly tears in my eye's for some one to help me out of this situation and my pride is telling me not to , but I am frightened of what will happen should I not get back to England. So any help in in any way I would be so grateful and appreciative. Sorry I would not ask but i have no choice and can not survive here any longer.

With tears in my eye's and a very heavy heart I would just like to thank you all and hope that you keep healthy, in the mean time, take care every one maybe one day I can really get back home...Kind regards...John

Hi what I am asking is for someone to collect a birth Cert for me In merseyside and I will send all forms needed to them with the nine pounds twenty five needed and the money for postage. I just need firstly that certificate. I am a British Citizen born in Newcastle

John, me more than anyone knows how bad things are for you, I know I have tried from Cape town but you do need someone in London to try and help you get a copy of your birth certificate for you. I hope things come right.SadSadSad

What a very sad thing to hear, John, and it seems unbelievable that the Embassy are unable to do anything for you to enable you to return to the UK. There are some wonderful people in ePZ, as I have found out recently, and I do hope that someone can assist you in some way, I only wish I could help. Your short time on ePZ has been a real pleasure to us all, with some stunning images, which we are all going to miss so much. I truly hope that one day you will be able to return to us and show us more of your wonderful photography. I wish you all the very best of luck for the future, take care. Carol

John I have been thinking....someone in the UK should be able to get to Merseyside to collect a copy of your birth certificate. I could then post the 10 pounds to them when I arrive in London next month. They can then post this to you in Johannesburg if you can get a postal address. I will then help you with money to get your passport once you have the birth certificate....
Please epz members, does anyone stay close to Merseyside to help John collect a copy of his birth certificate...I don't think anyone deserves to be homeless

Hi John.................. This situation seems ridiculous to me; assuming you are a British Citizen still the British High Commission should be able to assist............... You could rally friends and family in the UK to bombard their MP's if you have not already done so, they could also try the media, given that immigration in the UK is of current media interest given that many think that we are allowing too many immigrants into the Country the fact that you can not get back into your own home is beyond belief................ alternatively, find a way to get yourself deported.

If you can not get back to the UK and you can not stay in South Africa, what will happen?

Must agree with this, a sad state of affairs when you cannot get back to your country.

John am very sorry to hear of your plight. Trying to understand this.

You are a British born citizen therefore entitled to reside within the UK.

You have been given ill advice from the British Embassy over there.

Dont understand why they can't deal with your birth certificate from there, did they give a reason?

Anyhow I live an hour away from Southport if needs be I may be able to help. PM me further details.

John

Don't think you need to live in an area to get a copy birth certificate.
Let me know if no one in Merseyside can assist.
There has to be a solution.
Can we still contact you by PM?
