Still working through my images from a trip to California last January. This is a Mexican Wolf, Canis lupus baileyi, a small species of grey wolf found in the South Western USA and Mexico, hence the name.
I expect it would probably have my last upload for dinner Sad

Special thanks to Jenn and Lin for their UA's on my last upload.

Many thanks for taking a look at this one and as always any advice is always welcome.

Great image Gilly.
Because I live near Glasgow I can't help thinking
he's a Rangers Fan (known as Blue Noses).
They could do with some support right now.
Wonderful detail in fur.

Your title: a play on the words of Mowat's book "Never Cry Wolf" - if you've not read it I recommend it highly.

The wolf is so important to our environment - the lessons of Yellowstone prove this.

A fine capture of the animal.

Anne
