Inspired by images by Phil {PhillipMinnis} I spent time yesterday trying to come up with something original involving glass/crystal........this is the end result of 2 hours experimenting.
I have no idea how it will be received.......I wait with bated breath.

My thanks to all who commented on Lily.......I am most grateful.

Ronnie.

Of course I am impressed with your rose - how could I not like it... a wonderful delicate pink perfectly lit rose.
I am equally impressed with your very involved lighting to get the very abstract looking birds eye view of the crystal.
However, forgive me for saying this, I'm not sure about the combination. I feel I would prefer them in two separate images of their own right.

I love it, it is very original. If i was to be critical in any way at all, it would be with the rose not being 'round' to sit in the middle, but thats natures fault, not yours. Nice one.

The effect of the crystal is fantastic.
I'm wondering if a narrower glass/bowl would create a more 3D effect?
Is the rose sitting at bottom of a bowl? Maybe not from your narrative?
I think this is one which can be developed.
Great experiment Ronnie.

Very effective result of your experiment though not totally convinced! Think I'm with the idea of 2 images rather than a combination of them. Can we perhaps view the Rose minus anything else as it looks a stunner set against the black?

Excellent experiment Ronnie, and, as my old school reports used to say, very creditable Grin I do like the idea but it took me a while to work out what niggled. There are some lovely blue reflections in the crystal but the flower is pink! A blue rose or pink reflections would pull the two parts of the image together perfectly.

Ah, Ronnie, I just read your description about this image. I am totally flattered!

It's a nice result!

What about giving it a go with placing some roses behind the crystal bowl, and shooting it in sunlight. You'll be amazed at the effects that it could create!

This week, I'll upload one a little similar. You'll see what I mean.

Thanks, Ronnie! Smile

Cheers
