I loved the pattern on this piece of tree bark. Enhanced the green in PShop. I'm happy with it myself, but would like to hear what others think of my effort. Thanks for looking.

You've created a very good abstract - I like the muted colours very much.

You are right to be happy with it, Lavina, it has all the right elements for a good abstract....colour, texture, curves. In fact it has a liquid look, like water flowing around some rocks. I look again and it reminds me of an expressionist painting, like The Scream by Edvard Munch.

Yup, I like the flowing liquid analogy above, so I will go with that.

An excellent attempt at an abstract. What attracted me was the resemblance to "The Scream" but upside down. My issue is with the softness of the lower "eyes" They're, just, not sharp. I see you were using 86mm on the Olympus E-series. At 86mm d.o.f. is beginning to reduce, so an aperture of 4.6 is too large. I would have stopped down to f8 and focussed on those lower knots. You would still have had 1/80s exposure and that would have been fine hand held. Better still put the camera on a tripod and re-shoot at f11.
Cheers,
Alan

Never seemed to have time to look in on your portfolio.
I always think with people's avatar that they are young and exciting-
Grinfififcat100 sounds so playful!!! that's not to say that you aren't young, playful and exciting!
Anyway I love this image - wonderful abstract and any saturation you've added works so well.
