Cusco street portrait from last week. This lady was selling fruit and was happy to pose for a portrait after i bought something. I don't know how old she was but she appeared to have spent some time in the sun.

Critique welcome.

Version 2 - colour
Version 3 - original image (RAW)

EDIT: Version 4 - background darkened, as suggested by Melanie_M - thanks for the suggestion.

The black and white does well to highlight the features of her face and bring out the character and how hard life tells on the people of the mountains. If you could combine this with the subdued contrast and darker BG of the colour version it will take away the bright area to the upper right and keep some of the detail in her hair.

Thanks dennis for the modification, yours is definetely a better colour version - it now looks abit bright on my monitor too - it looks better with the darker background as suggested and the colours look better with less desaturation than my version. Thanks for the modification.
