Dairy Barn

Photographed Saturday:
This barn sits near a corner of two roads making it easy for me to grab a shot by parking ON the road and hoping no one would be inconvenienced. I was lucky! The recent ice storm has left us living in a skating rink of sorts---

I did not see any cows--- probably safely tucked inside--The pasture would be treacherous-----

The image was originally very close to a black and white----was converted and toned, then --again-- I reduced the opacity--- I think it gives a sense of the day---

New material of any sort will be hard to come by until this stuff melts….

What a massive barn and silage towers.
Must be a big farm.
Our little barns must look quaint by comparison.

I love that line of grass in the foreground, gives it great depth even though it isn't much.
Great tones of winter in this image as well.

Great tones, it does look a bit more industrial than the old wooden barns

Great barn image with lovely tones and good contrast with the snow. Fine example of this style of barn, the Silo's are identical to some on the Farm adjacent to my grandfathers farm when I was a child in West Cumbria, Northern England, I used to imagine them as rockets at that age back in the 70's, brings back memories.

Simple lines and limited tones, works so well with this subject. The blanket of snow helps with the simplicity.

An excellent expression of the winter. Your toning has worked beautifully on this barn. It looks much more industrial than ours....right down to business.
I hope you thaw out soon. We were without internet all weekend, probably the result of the weather. At least the sun has been shining here, although it is hovering around 0 most days.
