Many thanks for all the votes and comments given to the previously uploaded Silver Studded Blue, always appreciated.

Here's a female Dark Green Fritillary photographed at the weekend. This is the most beautifully marked individual i have ever seen and she shone brilliantly in the early morning sun.

A stunning close up of this beautiful butterfly, you did well to catch her away from the ground and with a good natural background. This species is about in great numbers at Prestbury Hill at present and there are more than i've ever seen there before. In fact in some areas of the reserve they even outnumber the marbled whites
