When family members pass away, often small treasures are found within their belongings. These two snapshots were in an envelope of loose photographs in my uncle's flat. We have our own personal copies of these, but not with commentary written on the back.
Our family lived in Vancouver, Canada when these were taken, and I think my mother sent photos home to her sister in Norway with text on the back explaining who, what, when, where etc. On the back of this one it says: "Taken by Anne Toril" - in other words, this is one of my very early photographic endeavors
What fun.
The two pictured here are my mother and father - some of you may recognize a much younger version of my mother than what I've previously uploaded to the gallery.
Another photograph, v2, shows me with an old camera that my father used to let me use - he would help me with the settings and then tell me to "shoot".
Thanks for allowing me this trip down memory lane, and for looking,
Anne

Was that your attempt at 'smiling for the camera', on v2, Anne!
Wonderful memories. Have you started something here....

About Memories
C'est quelque chose qui nous échappe
les souvenirs qui filent en vrac
Dans les mailles de son filet
la mémoire veut les attrapper
Mais comment oublier
toute cette vie qui fut la nôtre
elle restera dans l'éternité
racontée par tant d'autres.
It is something that avoids us
the memories which go off loose
In the stitches of his net
memory wants attrapper
But how forget
all this life which was ours
she will stay in eternity
Regards Nathan
told by so many others.
What Treasures indeed Anne, and so lovely to have them to look back on, as no doubt, the younger members of your Family will do in many Years to come.

Love these. Thanks so much for sharing this trip with us, Anne. How old were you when you shot V1?? 'Cos it's an EXCEPTIONAL shot. Goodness. You've had it in your blood, obviously. And so very cute you are in V2, face all scrunched up in the sun ![]()
Once again, thanks for these ![]()
