Excellent shot but seems to be lacking a bit of contrast. I've uploaded a mod where I've applied a slight curves adjustment layer and set it to multiply and backed off the opacity a bit.

Darren.

A very nice action shot Andy. As mentioned already, its a little flat, - meaning that the blacks are tending towards gray rather than black, which can give a washed out look.

The shot might have been a little overexposed perhaps, - you havent mentioned the shutter speed or aperture. The panning is terrific, and youve got a real sense of high speed in the shot.

I loaded a mod with some tweaks, all using CS3:

I used Threshold to set the black point, and curves to adjust the contrast using the black point identified by Threshold.

I sharpened quite a bit, - using USM my settings were: Amount = 65%; Radius = 0.8; Threshold = 3.

I cropped it to place the car a little lower, and further away from the right, might add a more dynamic feel to it. I did this by adding space to the top and right.

Hope you find this helpful,

Regards

Willie

Thank you Willie, that is helpful shutter was set at 1/40 using shutter priority the camera gave me f18.

The tweaks that people are doing are very very helpful, the picture was as shot with a black frame slung round it for good measure I have only been taking pictures seriously for about 8 months now and I didn't know what to do (or actually how) to enhance it and the comments will hopefully make the next one a better picture.
