Sorry but tonight it's the turn of the dead - I think - acer to put in an appearance. It's the dead bit that I think - I know it's an acer and there just happened to be a goldfinch perched on the end of one branch! Hope you like this dead shrub.

Thanks for the C & C's on my last upload - I am sorry that it's another goldie shot but that's all we've got around at the moment! Went for a walk today but ended up slipping down on the mud - on top of the camera - oops! Camera is OK but I'm a bit sore (mainly the pride!!)

Take care, Lou

A lovely image, Lou, and be patient with the acer, it may surprise you with fresh buds in the Spring Smile Carol

They are a beautiful bird and you've managed a smashing capture here Lou, sounds like you were lucky with the camera but not so lucky to escape without a sore " botty "GrinGrin.

Lovely little goldfinch. I have some that come to the feeders - must get off my butt and try to get some shots of them.
In answer to your question - no I didn't slip in the mud. Didn't get enough time to. Had my son and dog with me. After one of his famous terror rides round the wee twisty roads, he walked half a mile and started moaning about the cold. Not my fault he never took a cap or gloves! So a few quick shots and I was ushered back to the car. Still he bought me a chippy for lunch Grin. Off on my own tomorrow if weather fine!

Nicely balaced with thirds Lou and a great clear view of the Goldy. Might have tended to just crop a little off the bottom so that the perch draws in from the corner edge, but still well executed and presented
