This is a break from the norm for me. I took this on HMS Belfast, moored on The Thames.
It shows the workings of the magazine where the shells were stored and hoisted up to the guns high above on deck. It must have been very noisy and very cramped in there.

All C+C's welcomed.

Awesome image. When I first looked at this it looked like beverage bottles in a factory being corked. Smile Boy was I was off the mark. Smile

Alan, they were hand loaded into the tubes that you can see which then transported them upto the awaiting gun crew, who hand loaded them into the actual gun.
