A quick grab shot from my bedroom window of a stalwart council worker.
Here's our street cleaner doing a grand job. What job exactly I couldn't make out, but at least he's out and getting some exercise.

I'm not certain there is a right answer to your question, Chris. Here are two observations:
He is dedicated, grafting away for the council.
We and a few neighbours were deluded yesterday when we shovelled snow for an hour and left 'our' end of the street snow-free, because we have since had twelve hours' heavy snow (continuing).
And the light is rubbish, so my camera will stay in its bag because all there is to see is snow
It's early on a Monday and he automatically reached for his usual trolley at the depot, not yet awake sufficiently to remember to take the snow blower instead.
A fine and topical piece of photo journalism.
Quote: doing a grand job. What job exactly I couldn't make out,
The Council exercise their grit wagons by driving them along our road and then reversing out again noisily. They don't actually lay any grit on our road...
I reckon he's an expectant father practising for when he has to manoeuvre a buggy on snow.
.................. he is showing willing I suppose
A good candid, Chris, he probably has to be seen out with his trolley by his boss in order to get paid Carol
Workers have no choice ...
tho' the teachers seem to be getting away with it today!!!!!
I canr ever remember schools closind when I was teaching
He does take his job seriously. Not a lot of those people anymore. And, makes a good image with his bright yellow jacket.......Sandy
I suppose all the rubbish is under snow
One who has certainly been enlightened...
I would think it's a case of Redbridge Council not paying him if he didn't take it out! either that or he's just knocking some more time of his community service order!! Whichever, it was very nice of you to invite us into your bedroom, Chris . And a brownie point for obliterating the number plates
I think he's just sleeping.
Think he'll need more than those few implements to clear all that snow!
Wow...excellent grab, Chris! Gosh, that yellow stands out REALLY well in the snow, doesn't it?
I like this guy's spirit. Totally undaunted and taking his job seriously.
Either that or photography is his hobby and he's out to grab some snow shots whilst getting paid for a day's work
Picking up discarded cars Chris !!
I wonder if they are snow tyres on his truck???? Nicely done Chris, the High Vis jacket works a treat in the image... superb
What I really like is this yellowish High Vis jacket amongst all this whiteness
by the way Chris, what a nice view from your bedroom window
A mans gotta do what a mans gotta do.
You saw the image and gave it a great caption- brilliant, I love it! You should send it in for workman of the year (for dedication!)!!
At first I thought it was selective colouring Excellent frosty candid Chris.
That's a classic, Chris!
