Perfect capture of light in the front of image and keep the details in background - you do this in one single shot?

Thanks folks!

Hi fotostory, I achieved this through a technique called HDR imaging. Basically it is 5 merged photo's, with one 'normal' exposure, 2 over exposed shots and 2 under exposed. There's loads of information about it on the interweb if you Google "HDR photography".

The D300, amongst others, has a built in feature for bracketing 9 shots automatically.
The D90 also has the feature but only brackets 3 shots in one go, though it is possible, with a bit of imagination, to manually bracket more shots.

Dan.

The white pebbles really stand out. Very nicely processed!

Nice processing and HDR although not intensly strong as with some Images appears to have given the final Submission the Edge.....
Cheers Rick
