Thanks for the comments,
It is the new wetlands area in the woods.
If you look at a map it actually shows a path (well, a right of way) going straight through the middle of the lake!

Like this a lot. Been up there lots and ended up with grim dull days/nights/early mornings. :-( Is this the lake opposite the main car park across the road?
