On the walk to yestersday's lake there were numerous little piles of stones along the way. I don't know if they had any particular significance or if somebody had just been having some fun but here are a couple of them anyway.

Thanks for looking
Jason

People do the same here Jason !! maybe inherent in man is the desire to build or leave a monument Smile Lovely images !!

People would use stones to build a cairn to mark the path when walking or mountaineering but not sure you would need it here with the river.

Nice image

It doesn't matter why, but they make great subjects, both are well taken super images, Jason. V1 is my fave for the DOF.

Other photographers have been there an set them up I guess.
Sometimes the picture is there and sometimes we create it.
Two well chosen 'sculptures' each with their own merits but I have a leaning towards
V2 surrounded by the wildflowers.

You continue to make exquisite and interesting images-- v1 is stunning.

A few weeks ago, I went to Naragansett Beach in Rhode Island--- a place that was severely damaged by Hurricane Sandy. Onee particular place, 'The Coast Guard House' (Dinner, dancing and drink) is located right on the water. All about its beach shelf were small stone sculptures such as the ones you have shown. My SIL who runs by regularly told me they change daily-- just a sort of signature of the moment-- a bit like the locks left on fences maybe.... Grandson left about 25 sculptures it seems--built them while we were chatting---

Thank you for your UA-- delighted!

Two great shots Andy, can't help thinking the v1 would have been the perfect scene for a long exposure with the river running in the background! Great work matey!
