This ruin is next door to Christopher's croft house at Achmelvich and you can just see the sea through the trees. His cottage is the same design but has been rendered (I think that's the word) and painted white. Comments and criticisms are welcome - I think it might work well in b&w?
Thanks for looking and for your time - and a special thank you to LynneJoyce for her UA for Lichen yesterday!
Ann

A beautiful composition captured from what appear to be the perfect point of view. The image has immediate interest with both clarity and quality throughout.

The detailing in the stone work is particularly impressive Ann...

The stone work is beautifully cut and considering it was done by hand they made a fine job of the corners and edges. You have a fine croft house here and one day somebody will come up with the cash to bring this one back to life again.
The soft light suits this old home down to the ground Ann.

I agree and hope someone invests and make this house a home once again Ann, with that view it is very surprising it is a ruin.

MTS I could clearly see Stac Pollaidh from the north of Skye when I was up the east coast, covered in snow it looked magnificent in the sunlight. I'm still wishing to do the walk at least as far as the top of the path.
No doubt my face will look like this if I manage. Blush

Well, try the mono but there are things here that really benefit from the color:
-- the similarity of the tones between wall and the dry twigs
-- the blue of the sky clearly setting off the silhouette of trees and building.

This is a wonderful image.
