Crevasse, Ross Island, Antarctica. An abseil through a break in the crevasse roof and a couple hundred feet traverse allowed us to gain the true scale of this crevasse. Our figures were dwarfed by the sheer walls of ice as we trod carefully along an internal snow bridge.
