ok, when I saw the original photo I thought of somebody wrecked on a deserted island, with a Polaroid camera, felt-tip marker and no water.... Ok maybe that's a stretch, but the photo well has been pretty dry these last couple of weeks!
Enjoy

totally different yet completely engaging, don't know why, but i really like this.
the more i look at this, the more interesting it becomes.
nicely done...
Doug a Robinson Caruso feel to this! Like the tone with sun coming through on the guls! Like the presentaion with hand wriiten note!
American Pie comment:

Heh, I was embarrased to say... I play(ed) mandolin. Found it more "logical" than a guitar. Also, my short fingers could reach the notes more easily.
Basically I just strummed chords to accompany my screeching. :-P

Doug almost fell off the chair laughing and typing this holding my gut. my wife's telling me to keep it down you'll wake Ty!
To Flippin funny Doug!!!

I like the idea of the picture being shown from the viewpoint of the subject. I think it works well.

really had to look deep and think hard at this one Doug!... got there in the end... i think!?!... mind you, it is 4.30am and im off to bed!
Ok, maybe its late and I should be in bed, but I don't get it. So in order to be politically correct I will say its a nice abstract !?!
Spot on! Click!!!
Greg
really different makes a really interesting image unsure what I like but I do very much.
Heh, sorry if I caused any ice-cream headaches (Greg?). I figured this would be the last picture a photographer would take on his deserted island before succumbing to the elements. I liked the "peel-off" Polaroid frame I had found and applied it to the picture. It would be interesting to take pictures "from the subject's" perspective. Hurts my brain tho....
Now that I look at it, I think I should have tilted the whole image. The way it is now is too regular. To do again I would have skewed the "polaroid". Oh well, live and learn. Maybe I'll do a series on the adventures of my anonymous photographer on the deserted island.... hmmmm....
Doug
Doug, looking foreward to see what you can do with that series! This one make sense, quite a bit at least! And what a frame..!
Tommy
I've come to this via the "Storm Tonight" pic in this series. I think the tilted frame works much better, it gives more of a discarded feel to the image.
Love the tones. Keep developing the series.
(Developing? That's a word that doesn't get used much in photography these days.)
