ok, when I saw the original photo I thought of somebody wrecked on a deserted island, with a Polaroid camera, felt-tip marker and no water.... Ok maybe that's a stretch, but the photo well has been pretty dry these last couple of weeks!

Enjoy

Doug

Doug a Robinson Caruso feel to this! Like the tone with sun coming through on the guls! Like the presentaion with hand wriiten note!

American Pie comment:
What instruement did you play, i played the drums in a few bands. Ty has been bugging me because i still have two complete sets (Gretch & Pearl w/Zyldian cymbals)at my parents but remember the hell i put my parents through when i started, hehehe!

Heh, I was embarrased to say... I play(ed) mandolin. Found it more "logical" than a guitar. Also, my short fingers could reach the notes more easily.

Basically I just strummed chords to accompany my screeching. :-P

I like the idea of the picture being shown from the viewpoint of the subject. I think it works well.

Heh, sorry if I caused any ice-cream headaches (Greg?). I figured this would be the last picture a photographer would take on his deserted island before succumbing to the elements. I liked the "peel-off" Polaroid frame I had found and applied it to the picture. It would be interesting to take pictures "from the subject's" perspective. Hurts my brain tho....

Now that I look at it, I think I should have tilted the whole image. The way it is now is too regular. To do again I would have skewed the "polaroid". Oh well, live and learn. Maybe I'll do a series on the adventures of my anonymous photographer on the deserted island.... hmmmm....

I've come to this via the "Storm Tonight" pic in this series. I think the tilted frame works much better, it gives more of a discarded feel to the image.
Love the tones. Keep developing the series.
(Developing? That's a word that doesn't get used much in photography these days.)
