OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA
No fakery here. A good sharp portrait of a moving subject.
Tells the story very well
In my previous career I saw lots of women like this and I could never understand. WHY O WHY?
Certainly a striking image and a subject I find abhorant. The thing that does strike me in the image is that the subject has an expression of acceptance about her situation (I hope that is not so). A very thought provoking image thats tells many a story. A summary from Dazzi would help here.
It takes guts, on all parts to reveal such atrocity. An abhorrent subject, to be sure, that releases all kinds of emotions, with especially a question regarding the power of photography to elicit deeper thoughts on the human condition.
It feels almost wrong to vote on this photo, but it is a very moving picture and one we sadly see all too often.
Hi to all and many thanks for you comments. It was very interesting to read your thoughts and interpretations.
The subject is in fact my sister who was attacked by strangers whilst out with her friends. She was actually on the mend when this photo was taken so her injuries are not as bad as they were. I had gone to visit her and had a camera with me and as we sat talking I took the photo.
I was in two minds whether to post it up or not but I feel the image tells a story and provoked thought amongst those who took time to look.
Once again, thanks for your comments
Glad she is on the mend.
