So now I know what the layers are and what can they be used for, thought I could have some fun with them then Smile
Used several pictures in this one, taken with various cameras, everything put together in CS2. Hope you like it.

Once again thank you so much for taking your time and for all your support, much appreciated.

See large if you have time, please Smile

Superb Milla. Very creative. I have a slight preference for the framing of V2, but I find that V1 is better for the proportions.

V1 just edges it for me - a powerful and surreal image, so well suited to mono

Wonderful imaginative manipulation..this is great. Looking foreward to what you'll cook up next Smile
..and v1 for me. Puts the viewer lurking in the shadows, prefer that viewpoint

Aren't layers the greatest fun? V2 for me as the crop involves you in the picture whereas V1 leaves the viewer a bit remote. It is a very creative image though and I can't wait to see where this new found freedom takes you.

Eric

V1 is good V2 has a bit more edge for me, like this..

Not bad for a first attempt Wink V1 for me as the BW looks "cleaner" somehow.

The figure to me does'nt quite fit in the scene and has a slightly pasted-on look. Think carefully about shadows ... paint them in on a separate layer with a soft low-opacity brush and change leyer blend mode and/or opacity to suit. Also think about painting on some shading on the main character to give a more 3D effect. You can do this on a layer above the figure and again vary opacity and blend mode to suit.

Looking forward to seeing more of this type of work though ....

Thank you people, as always appreciate your comments, and especially the advises.
Yes, I'm really starting to love the infinite possibilities the layers seem to give Smile
Indeed, I didn't manage to fit myself into the scenery well, now I know how to improve it though, thanks Dave.

....fantastic piece of work!... well done!.. but you should get onto your Council!.... thought the roads round my way were bad!?!.... Wink

difficult choice between the two; #2 has more clarity given the colours and closer crop, but it has to be #1, but seen much larger Smile

Yay, cheers again everyone, so glad you liked it, very motivating Smile
Following Dave's advise I've been working a bit on fitting the figure better into the scene, painting the shadows didn't work too well the way I've done it lol, I've made it up by dodging/blurring/adding the mist around though and must admit it looks far better to me now. Will upload the final versions as soon as I'm entirely happy with them.
