Can you guess what these are for?

No I haven't been rummaging through my other halfs tool box!!

In December 2003 I was involved in a serious car accident. I ended up fracturing my pelvis, my femur (I nearly snapped the head clean off) and my ulna. These screws were fitted to my femur in order to hold the head back in place to allow it to repair itself. I also had a metal plate and six smaller screws fitted to my ulna.

Yesterday I went back to the hospital to have the srews removed from my femur as they were starting to give me a bit of jip. The surgeon gave me the screws to keep and I am still in shock as to the size of them!!

In order to achieve this image, I scanned the screws on a Canon scanner and then blurred the background, changed it to monochrome and added a tint in Photoshop CS2. (See the current issue of Digital Photo Magazine for more info on this technique).

I find this quite abstract, I like the way the two screws on the right are suggested by a single line. Will have to try the scanner technique. Nice one.

Ah so thats why you've been off work. I like it though - different. I've finally got a working copy of CS2, any assistance would be great. See you soon.
