Taken about 45mins before sunrise, the clouds were thick as mud so it wasn't going to be a colourful sunrise . The light off the Liverpool docks gave colour to the scene

The statue is a fitting tribute to the dockers and he leads us into the scene
with that reflected light in the watery trail.

The statue is beautifully placed, and he stands rather neatly in the pool of water with the soft reflected light, surrounded by the patterned sand.
