A couple of hundred metres south of the Farnese Gardens in my last upload is Domus Flavia or Flavian Palace. It was part of the vast residential complex of the Roman Emperors on the Palatine Hill, and was completed in 92 AD in the reign of Titus Flavius Domitianus, more commonly known as the Emperor Domitian.
This is just a small area of the Palace, with V1 & V2 showing the octagonal fountain of the Domus Flavia from different viewpoints, and in V4 the oval fountain which could be viewed from the dining hall.

Splendid reportage, photographs and caption supporting each other to give a rounded picture. It certainly increases my appreciation of the Ancient World.
V2 my preferred image, though I'm not entirely sure why: perhaps the position of those two quirky trees tickles my fancy!

Another splendid set showing us a part of the Roman remains that are completely new to me, Trev, and as others have mentioned your narrative is always so welcome and instructive, allowing a greater understanding of the shots.
