Ancient doorways, one now leading nowhere, at Okehampton Castle. Illustrating one kind of flare ? (Flare can be a problem with this camera, and this is taken toward weak sunshine) When downsizing, the image was sharpened more than usual, as this seems to show the detail better in an epz size file.

I like this one, and the 'flare' looks very mysterious. Quality all round, well done

Hm. Now I can see it on Epz, maybe the extra sharpening wasn't needed. Also, if the 'halo' was toned down a shade, it would still have been visible - I was concerned about making it too subtle for the small file size.

Ah, sense of relief, someone liked it, thanks Damian.

Posted twice, thought it hadn't worked!

Great atmosphere here - I think the flare adds such a lot to this composition

Lots of atmosphere & good textures & colours in the stones. Makes me want to walk in & see where it goes. Mind you in an old castle it's probably a big break a leg drop.
Sarah

Yes, I think its far enough to break a leg.
Couldn't help wondering where it used to go, and who were the people who went up the steps and through the door.

Thanks all for the other comments, quite useful.
