Gorgeous mono, I really like the hint of the sunlight coming through the clouds in this very well composed image. I don't for one minute believe you are a "dour fifer"!

I agree, Ken
Wonderful mono, Rod. I like the light sifting through the sky and the silhouetted branches. A small blemish, but you could eliminate the dark spots in the sky on the left hand side using healing brush. I sometimes have the same problem.
A fine mono, the trees on the left are in just the right place.
Any chance of sub titles for us folk who live a little nearer to the equator?
Ivor eh no
Cheers Nezih , never saw them Think its crap on my sensor I have seen to it on the original
2 black blobs in the sky on the left, presumably from your dirty sensor, which you could have cloned out. The left side of the image is great, but it looks like you've selected the right side, around the tree, and excluded it from your contrast adjustments. The tree is in silhouette anyway, and therefore wouldn't be affected by the contrast boost .... so Why?. Sticks out a mile, looks weird. Though just to me, it seems.... am I missing something?
Fix it, and you've got a great shot.
I see what you mean Alan but the adjustments were global so am no sure . Iwill try and see if i can do something with it . As far as the dirty sensor my bro is coming down next week and he's gonna show me how tae clean it lol so hopefully that will be sorted oot.
It is said- not by me but by the 'experts' -that photography is about the use of light. And what a superb demonstration of use of light this image is. The sky and the water are, even to me, a Sassenach, beautiful. Well captured, Rod. Och aye the noo. I.e. canny good, man, yers cummin on as like.
Waye Aye man !! Cheers Jack
Beautiful use of the wonderful light, great tones, the delicate tracery of the trees is perfectly shadowed against the water. the sunlight on the water and bursting through the clouds is excellent.
A super mono image Rod, like the way the light rays are comeing down onto the water,
A wonderful image, Rod, very difficult exposure wise, you have handled it superbly, nice work.
