This plays tricks, with the eyes and the brain - it took a few moments to work it out. I particularly like the way you've kept the window on the right effectively out of the composition, contrasting the other window and the column. Balanced asymmetry. This is excellent, and deserves much more attention than it's getting. I sometimes despair of the site.

Intelligent use of perspective in the composition and black & white in the processing: colour would risk detracting from the fine study of line. Beautifully balanced, an excellent image.

Decision by committee. My Better Half and I had the same two pictures shortlisted for our User Awards, we tossed up and I got yours! This is one of the best architectural compositions I've seen in a long time, and my personal picture of the week. I hope that bumping it into the UA Gallery will give it a bit more visibility.

PS The BH put his award on this one. There are people here with genuinely creative vision, but they tend to pass under the site's radar. Sad.

I would like to that all for the positive responses, I have only seriously been taking photography for just over a year and it is nice to know I am heading in the right direction.

Michael

Once again thank you

Very nice image. Great range of tones repeating patterns, and especially that hint of light from the window on the right. Shortlisted.

Regards

Willie
