After trawling my arc hives I came across this photograph which I captured a little while ago. As soon as I saw it I reminded me of my battered Red and Black Ford Escort which I drove home for Christmas Leave all the way from Germany. Chris Rea had just brought out his brilliant track "Driving Home for Christmas"
Driving home for Christmas
Oh, I can't wait to see those faces
I'm driving home for Christmas, yea
Well I'm moving down that line
And it's been so long
But I will be there
I sing this song
To pass the time away
Driving in my car
Driving home for Christmas
It's gonna take some time
But I'll get there
Top to toe in tail-lights
Oh, I got red lights on the run
But soon there'll be a freeway
Get my feet on holy ground
So I sing for you
Though you can't hear me
When I get through
And feel you near me
I am driving home for Christmas
Driving home for Christmas
With a thousand memories
I take look at the driver next to me
He's just the same
Just the same
Top to toe in tail-lights
Oh, I got red lights on the run
I'm driving home for Christmas, yea
Get my feet on holy ground
So I sing for you
Though you can't hear me
When I get trough
And feel you near me
Driving in my car
Driving home for Christmas
Driving home for Christmas
With a thousand memories
I hope that you all have a great and thank you for your most welcomed messages, comments and words of wisdom following yesterdays upload.
Regards as always Nathan

Beetling off home
. I always wanted a MkI Escort but never quite managed it.

I agree with Nonur the blur does give a sense of movement.
- One of my all-time most fave artists, and I love that song.

I love the reflection in the ladybird's shiny back! Nice capture, pity we barely see ladybirds anymore locally. Damn over-development... ![]()

Great photo Nathan I had a crap car on my trips home from Paderbon. Did you know that Chris Rea thought of this song going home I think to Middlesborough from the Apple studios in London where he worked on Christmas Eve, thinking he was about to loose his house because of money problems! When he arrived home there was a letter with the first royalty check for Fool If You Think It's Over! He has not looked back since. thought this was a great Christmas story.
Have a great Christmas my friend.
Regards
Trev.
Lovely idea, the green leaf as a micro-motorway...

Lovely Macro Nathan. Is that your reflection I see on the ladybird? Brilliant. Two for the orice of one! Hope you have a very Happy Christmas and New Year. Don
More of a VW Beetle than a Ford Escort, I think!
A great close-up however, Nathan ![]()
Again, hope you have a great Christmas ![]()

a wonderful poem from Valery for this joyful capture.
keep them coming
Merry Christmas to you and lots of light and photo opportunities for 2013
The little guy or gal pictured should be able to avoid those jams and tailbacks by flying home for Christmas! As usual I'm left to bring up the REA as there is loads of traffic in front of me!![]()
Great imagination ... I love this Chris Rea song & ladybirds are photogenic.. Nice combo
