Taken today at Arundel WWT, do not know what type of duck it is but I'm sure somebody will be able to tell me. I thought what lovely eye colour he has. Alec

Hi Alec this is a Rosybill-Netta Peposaca Male.
One of the most numerous ducks in temperate South America.
Shot by ranchers who wrongly belive that it transmits disease.
Farmers in Brazil also blame it for damaging rice crops.
Often lays its eggs in other duck nests. It also falls victim to the Black-headed duck which lays its own eggs in Rosebill nest.
Great shot. Vanda
