I'm thinking maybe your eyes lead to the centre of this picture and there is nothing there apart from pond weed. Any comments appreciated

This is very nice indeed. I have no problem with composition other than the tiny comment that the duck on the right would have been better swimming into the picture - but that hardly matters. Exposure spot on.

It works just as it is. it hangs together as a scene, and I find my eyes are looking around and enjoying what I see, and lot looking for anything missing.

Thanks for your comments. Paul I did try the duck on his own the way you suggested but in the end I found it more restful having them all going in the same direction

Nice shot and well framed, and I love the high key bits, but there's something missing from it for me. Still nice shot though.

I think the composition is fine. You have got a triangle going on with the ducks in three positions which helps to move the eye around the picture. The flying ones are a particularly nice as they are just that little bit different and provide some movement in all the stillness.

A beautiful shot !!.....lovely arrangement & great atmospherics !!!

The only minor point for me......I think the area of water is overwhelming the image a wee bit ??....maybe a slightly lower viewpoint would have overcome that ?....so....
I've done a simple mod to reduce the water area, by raising the bottom edge of the image, without cropping it, so it retains all the elements.....& enlarged the ducks a
bit, to make them more prominent ! Finally adjusted the 'Levels' a tiny bit, & added a thin black border to hold everything together..................

Not meant as a criticism, just my idea on what this lovely shot could end up like !!!.....regards....Keith.Smile

I like your suggestions and I think this works better. That space was worrying me. Funny though when you know the pond so well you don't really like to see it looking more like a river so I think that's why I had not thought of it before!
