First light breaks over the pebbled foreshore beneath Dunnottar Castle.
On the Saturday, the Team headed east to Stonehaven with a view to shooting the castle here, but as usual there's normally shots to be had if you look over your shoulder
The sky was forecast to be clear on this particular morning ... they weren't wrong either.
Techie stuff: 0.6 secs @ f14, ISO 100 + 0.9 ND Grad + 0.6 ND Grad.
Cheers for looking in folks, catch up in a bit ... got to put my uniform on and go warm the 'taxi'
Excellent capture with wonderful light and lovely colour, love it.
Love those "precious stones"
I like this a lot Paul and the clear sky works well for me. Probably better than a sky full of clouds because of the rock that breaks the skyline.
Your signature PPing is a joy too.
Excellent image. Really nice light comming from the stones in the Foreground....Derek
Ta guys, have a great evening.
Not that much done TBH Ian. Small exposure tweak, WB adjustment, saturation boost and a touch of contrast in C1, then usual sharpening routine in PS and a small shadow lift for some detail. Admittedly there was a fair bit of cloning sea spray to be done which did take me longer than I like
Do agree though mate the clear sky probably helps a little more here
EDIT: Just added the exposure and filtration details.
stunning photo - absolutely superb!!!
Great capture Paul, like the stones in the foreground.
Great colours and I really like how the water in the foreground has come out.
Now I do like this one, very special indeed.
Got yr breath back yet from coming off that beach?.... I did warn you.
Certainly worth it me thinks.
Cheers mate, thanks for the feedback, its a gem.
Really stands out this one, really love the sun right in the centre of the shot, it really draws your attention in from each corner - wouldn't noramlly work but with the sea stack this is nicely balanced.
Cheers folks, thanks for your time ...nearly weekend
Tis a bit of a scramble back up Phil, especially when it's muddy and wearing wellies with next to no grip
Love them pebbles!
I wondered when or if we would see any shots from you from Dunnottar. Really like this one Paul, the colour graduation in the sky is great and the sheen on those FG pebbles is excellent.
. . really like your sand-castle shot here !
Cheers guys ... maybe a sandcastle shot will appear soon Mike ... maybe not
Hits all the right spots Paul
