The Eagle Owl ( bubo bubo )
A massive bird and one of Europes most powerful predators even, ocassionally, resorts to killing other owls. Taking a close look at those hypnotic eyes and awesome beak its easy to see how he earns the reputation. I hope you will feel, as I do, that he is a magnificent creature. He has a wingspan of between 4.5 and 5.5 feet.

As always my most grateful thanks to you for all views/comments/votes on the Long Tail. Grin

Ron

Maybe I do not want to meet this huge bird up close-- his wing span being wider than I am tall-- magnificent features shown in this image bely his talents!

Lovely sharp detail Ron and great eyes. It's the rear claw that's the killing tool. Shame hadn't got lower rather than slightly looking down but still very nicely done
