Whilst not wishing summer away, I do look forward at this time of year to the colours of autumn: this image was taken in mid October last as the autumn colouring was developing.

My thanks for all the comments on On The Lookout, and........Not On The Lookout, and with a special big thank you to Fred {Badgerfred} and Eileen {EileenH} for their User Awards.

Ronnie.

Good grief Ronnie, can't you sleep? Me neither!

We have the early signs of Autumn already here with funghi appearing and some of the leaves on the cherry turning red. This lovely image with its glorious colours is hopefully a portent of things to come.

That very hot spell we had pushed our acers colour into autumn shades, but the rest of our garden is about 6 weeks late, so we have quite a strange mix at the moment.
I too love the autumn coloursSmile

Here is little poem which for me although very simple in its content sums up Autumn very well..

The Colours of Autumn

Coppery red leaves,
Falling from trees,
That soon will be bare.

The colours of Autumn.

Piles of reddish brown,
Lying scattered on the ground.
And a chill in the air.

The colours of Autumn
The sky is grey,
Shorter days,
And darker nights.

The colours of Autumn.

Evenings bathed in gold,
Thunderclouds so bold,
And weaker sun, not as bright.

The colours of Autumn.

Regards Nathan

Yes.. I know what you mean Ronnie, not the sharp harsh summer light which means you have to get up at either 5am or be out a 10pm for low light shots.. I like the brisk sunny Autumnal days..

However, this is a rather fetching image of what we have to look forward too shortly.

Lovely colours Ronnie I don't want to leave this summer behind but at the same time I have discovered a lot of new places this smear and have thought I want to go back when the frost is on the ground when the leaves turn and I even think this may look great in the snow. There's nothing like optimisum and enjoying our world in all it's glory at any time of year.Smile
