Mousehole Harbour, not long after Dawn - I love this place and need to go back soon! Smile

Mousehole (Mouzel) is a vibrant Cornish community and a remarkably unspoilt village. The south arm of the harbour dates to 400AD and was the embarkation point for pilgrims to Rome in the early days of Christianity.
The village has the distinction of being one of the very few places in mainland Britian to be invaded since 1066; it was pillaged and burnt by the Spaniards in 1595. Today it provides a perfect base from which to explore this delightful 'little land'. It remains, in the words of Dylan Thomas, 'The most beautiful village in England'.

Thanks for your time, as always your thoughts/comments are very welcome.

Regards - Sarah J x

Certainly a lovely little place, Sarah - it's a good few years since I visited here. Love the early morning light catching the houses in the background Smile

Lovely flowing lines lead through the image from the left and draw attention to the shape of the port itself as well as that rather graceful boat.

Pillaged and burnt by the Spaniards ! They didn't get very far did they; the first place on the map. It was probably a Sunday and all the shops were shut. I felt much the same annoyance in Brighton over the weekend, having made a special trip to see a museum only to find it closed on Sundays. It's a seaside resort for goodness sake, it's the middle of summer, things should be open for business. This isn't the 1950's.
