Lots of layering for depth and a sky that's like an old master! The mid and backgrounds are so strong they compensate for the weaker foreground although personally I feel the FG works well as an empty space, funneling you into the view. I also think the 50:50 split of land:sky works well with so much interest in both one doesn't overwhelm the other. It's a cracking image!
