... And never the twain shall meet.
Actually it looks as if they did - once.
Rails on the abandoned light railway on Dungeness beach.
Well observed and captured Bill

I always wonder what went on before it became like this...
I love the colours and textures in this Bill!
It looks like very well preserved rust Bill. You have done too good a job.
really like the tones, Bill.
maybe, it is just a thought, I'd have prefered a more central position of the sleeper, to enhance the symmetry.
I really like the tones of the pebbles in the BG, echoing the rust of the subject.
I always miss my rust this time of year Bill, with my annual Fringe uploads,so it is always a welcome sight for me.Good to see a fine bit of the brown gritty stuff again.
Rails make such fine rust. Sad to see the state of disrepair in them though. This is a beauty. I might crop in from the viewer's left to eliminate the background tie, personal preference...
Well seen Bill, interesting how the centers have rusted away first.
Good tones and light too.
Lovely rusty texture

I think this was the spot where the rails were linked by fishplates bolted on, so the decay worked from the inside outwards.
Excellent detail in that railroad tie. And some great rust too. Well seen Bill............Sandy
Yup, rusted rails making a good photograph, sense of history there also.
The rusty nails holds fast
A good observation Bill.
Some good textures here Bill.
Great bit of RAS fodder Bill.Super rust and texture.
What great textures an observation Bill - I hope this is #30 from me!
And never the Train will meet.
Lovely colour & textures, well taken Bill
Great composition Bill and really like the textures.
Shows a lack of culture on my part, but I first thought of Doris Day singing "Buttons & Bows" when I read your title.
I stand corrected Bill.
Off the rails, more like.
I'm sure Mikbee will be back on the right track again after seeing this, I've been worried recently that he's started to go off the rails and get ideas above his station!
