Perfer this version for the high sky that seems to go better with the low horizon. Nice tonal range too.
This reminds me of how small we are in relation to the universe. Gives a much different feeling than the horizontal. Both are fantastic images.
I like this even better, the format really emphasises the sense of space. Great job Ollie, have a fab weekend.
Really interesting to see both views. I think that this has much more of a visual impact. This one deserves to be framed and hung.
bill
like the huge cloud formation with the tiny trees, great composition.
I like them both. The sky is angrier in the other one, this one is aesthetically more pleasing. Enjoy your weekend Ollie. Regards, Bert
A brave composition Ollie.
I won't do a mod as you can probably guess what it would look like ![]()
Have a great weekend. Dave.
As with the previous version, there's a powerful sense of scale and drama going on...
Dave
Good work, Ollie. A dramatic shot, which I think just shades the previous version.
Dave
sort of reminds me of a Western, the trees being riders... (nope not been drinking LOL) , as Ed says, tricky to pull off but works very well
love this format! such a vast expanse....wonderful comp
have a good weekend ;-0)

Love the simplicity of this image Ollie, this just edges the previous upload for me, though its a tough decision. Love the space afforded to that great sky. Minimalistic perfection!
C
these trees are so photogenic, the use of sky and size are perfection, ollie

I'm jumping backwards and forwards between the two. The heavier sky suits the landscape format, it's quite oppressive. This gives a wonderful sense of space and freedom. They are two totally different pictures.
Thanks for your kind and encouraging comments, which I greatly value.
Moira
Superb sense of scale, big sky. Often ignored, not here another stunner ollie. Ron.
Love the space here. Simply beautiful. Well done, Ollie!
Have a great weekend, too!
Excellent again,Ollie. The hole that breaks the sky adds so much ballance to this wonderful shot.Superb seen.
Have a great W_E.

Mo.
This version is very good, too. The portrait format give a great sense of scale to image. Best regards. Ovy
Hi Ollie,
This is an excellent version, love the sky with the small land below, shows us just how small we are as opposed to the sky and space. If i'd done a mod it would have been a pano,i wonder how that would look.I love this series so far and i'm sure i'll enjoy the rest just as much.take care.Ann![]()
Great scale, definitely a gallery-image.
thanks for your continiued support
Tommy
i think i like this image alot better..well done.
alex
love the HUUGGE sky, great composition and sense of scale
steve
Yep, this is the one! The last one took some beating, and this did it. Would look great on a wall. Love everything about it: my kind of image.
Great work - the immensity of the sky is awesome. Love the way the trees are dwarfed by it, and the choice of portrait style emphasises the scale very well.
I prefer the landscape format, but I see this one is two votes up so what do I know!
Still a great shot.
Doug
