Eilean Donan putting on a brooding aspect under a drizzly sky.........taken on our trip to sky (our last holiday) in Sept. 2008. It drizzled all the time whilst on sky and again on the way home when yet again the tide was out here.
Although the is Castle has become an iconic image of the Scottish Highlands, it is still less than 100 years old.

My thanks to all who commented on Meconopsis.

Ronnie.

The colours in the foreground are so rich and contrast well against the mist.

I do find this capture very interesting Ronnie because of the lack of water, every photo you see has water in the foreground of this well photographed castle, the tones textures and mist make this my UA choice for today my friend.

Driech but very colourful for it! That FG rock is a lovely foil to the castle and it's also nice to see a different view; I hadn't appreciated the way the castle extends to the right in a stepwise fashion before seeing this image, well spotted! Being slightly picky, was there some camera shake? It's not quite as sharp as your usual.

A much photographed castle, but can't say I've seen it from this angle before. Can't say I remember actually seeing it either, but must has passed by it on the way to the Isle of Skye way back in 1986. And I didn't realise it was not that much older than me! Wink A truly wonderful capture here, Ronnie, with the castle sitting between those beautiful vibrant colours in the foreground and the misty background Smile Without a doubt, this has to merit my UA Wink
