The second of my shots from Yosemite last weekend. This is a reflection of El Capitan in the Merced River: I am trying for something a little different than the "usual" Yosemite shot with this one.
Cheers all

I've given myself a crick in the neck peering at this upside down. The reflection is so beautiful, and I enjoy the fact that we cannot see 'reality' above the tree, we know what is there purely from the reflection.

Keeps you looking for longer by making you work harder to understand. I do like images like that, they require a lot of skill to produce! The colours are lovely and the reflection crisp while the sunlight kissing the summit is very neccessary to create impact and depth so your timing is spot on. Arguably you could take your idea even further by making a square crop so the water is just banded by snow on either side, framing the view. It wouldn't be better, just different! The only other suggestion I'd make is maybe clone out the loops of blue rope on the near river bank, they are only a minor distraction but when you've created an image this good you don't want wee niggles! ![]()
