Just as we pulled up at a Watering Hole, the Bush parted and this Herd of Elephant came down in a line.Animals scattered everywhere, noone messes with these, they have the water to themselves.
After having an encounter with a female who gave us a Mock Charge,i ca'nt say i blame them,i ducked under the seat..lol,thank God she backed off as we could'nt get out due to two jeeps pulling up behind.
it was a frightening experience!!
The middle of the group here were hiding a very tiny baby and attacked everything that came near.
It was great to watch them bathe and have a dust bath,it was a relief for them in the scorching heat of the Bush.
Many thanks for all your views and comments

Nice photo, I also like the frame, I think it finishes the whole thing off nicely.
Your story re the mock charge reminded me of something that happened to a couple who were on their honeymoon at the same time as us.They went on safari (we were in Kenya) and an elephant charged the 4x4, the hubby fell back onto his bum, but never dropped the camera.... wifey was yelling in excited hysteria to make sure he carried on filming... bless! No concern for his welfare at all..... Only had bruised pride at the end of the day! (and the footage of course!)
Jeanie
Thanks for all your views and comments, much appreciated.
Lauren,it's b&w with a sepia tone added in hue/saturation.
lol Jeanie,,,,funny you should say that,i was the one who always had to be in the back of the jeep..open to anything by the way. When the Elephant started to get angry, throwing things and then coming for us,we were within feet of her,and i would've been first pickings....Andrew just got all excited whilst i just screamed and dived under the seat in front. We could'nt go anywhere cos we were blocked in from behind...thank god a car pulled up to the front of us and they went for him instead....i've never seen someone reverse so quickly round a corner in my life..lol.

Julie, large one is out of this world. The tones are just fabulous.
You must share your methods one day on the Techniques section !)
Must have been a great experience. Often when on holiday like that shots, due to various circumstance, aren't as good as normal. Not here of course.

So beautiful Julie again you've captured a magical scene that gives you the sense of being there. Wonderful tones and lighting and I really think you deserve some kind of recognition, mind you saying that as long as your friends here appreciate it as much as I think they will what else could be better.
Hope you feeling better dear friend.
Mark.
Thanks Tommy,it was just a case of always being ready to get a shot out there, plus we were lucky to have our own jeep with driver so we could go anywhere we wanted, did'nt do me bum much good tho:o)
Thanks Pete for your lovely comment
Thanks Mark,i did'nt get as many as i'd have hoped, took hundreds..lol,the CD burner came in handy tho which we did on the jeep.It was hot, dusty and uncomfortable for 9hrs a day in the bush but it was worth it and i want to do it all over again..lol
thanks for your kind words

Wondered if we were going to see some more black and white . . . this works so well. Love the way the line of elephants descend out of the woods on to the grass i.e. from dark to light. Really makes them stand out well in B&W.
Edward
So I'm sitting here with Andrew's in one window and your's in the other. He did zoom on a little and excluded the first elephant. So it shows a little more detail, while yours shows the whole line a little better. But they are hard to compare since his is in colour. Do you have one in colour? I am wondering whether this works better in colour. And this is a first-rate non-colour photo I think!

Thanks Patrick,i do have a few in colour but wanted to something a little different as it was almost the same as Andrews:o)Almost trampled him to get this shot, was just amazed that the two elephants in front went on to clear the waterhole and attack anything that dared stay within range..lol.
Thanks Jivko
