A brooding sky sits over the Cuillins yet a rather benign Loch Scavaig gently washes up and down the shoreline at Elgol ... I do love occasions like these
Cheers for dropping by, off out on the 'taxi' run again in a bit.
Stunning seascape, great detail in the forground.
Some great colours in the rocks and sky. Top notch!
Some good light and colours in this Paul, certainly a lot better day than I had when I was last there.
Your clearly wasted as a graphic designer Paul, there's a taxi plate with your name on it somewhere!! Right up there with the best of them this one!
A superb detailed image. Excellent capture of this place..............Sandy
PMSL @ Harsharn, my sense of direction is crap without me TomTom
Cheers all, catch up in a bit.
Another excellent image.
A really wonderful shot, fab detail and a gorgeous sky - it's nice to see the mountains not being engulfed by the clouds, well not by much anyway!
Fine image from " Joe Cornish corner " Superb mood Paul. Ron.
Is it possible to have corners on a round boulder Ron?
Nicely shot matey, somewhere I'd love to get to one day!
Highly recommended mate, you'd love it!!!
Stunning shot with great lead in lines.
Wonderful colour & details, Superb.
Thank you both
Beautifully presented .. very nice indeed.
Cheers MrP, much appreciated mate
thats a real cracker, theres more definition in the bg than i remember there being in the others i've seen of yours from here. lesley
Beats the wallpapering any day , i never look out the window when i am decorating...
There's plenty in them too Lesley, except the BIG stopper version
I'll remember that Doug, someone else will have to rub down the gloss on the window sill then
would have been better to have tilted the camera up a tad, so we could have seen more of the 'brooding sky'.
good colours though, apart from that burnt out piece of sky, two blended exposures may have fixed that?
Glad to see the good old 'atlas boulder' is still featuring large Lovely shot. I've stood in the same place under similar conditions and it's quite a sight.
Tiz a beauty mate
Nice prcessing to bring out the detail in the darker fg. Elgol is a wonderful place.
Cheers guys and a good point Terry, I'm not averse to blending at times but on this particular occasion I didn't bracket so unless I pushed the RAW file a bit more there was no darker highlights to use. As for tilting up, I'm happy with the composition as it's not about the sky for me the geology is the main focus here, the sky merely provides the backdrop.
A fine shot of this location Paul, congrats on the badge
I'm not at all suprised this has been Highly Commended Paul. Stunning image.
Super work Paul has such a Jurassic feel to this, all you need is T rex now well done..
@Doug ... well it was shot in R-O-A-R!!!!!!!!
Cheers guys, take care.
Thanks Nigel, just spotted your award ... much appreciated sir
Excellent Paul, I don't see any burnt out highlights, on my screen I can see detail there. For me its about the FG the sky is a bonus
Yup, there is detail in there mate - as bright as that small area is. Your sentiments mirror mine completely, the sky plays second fiddle in the scene, it's all about the immediate foreground!!!
Cheers Nick, hope you are well.
Yep doing fine, tho could do with a few extra hours in the day.
That was a fine session you had that day.
Cheers too now Pierre
A series of shots that will always stand up well to a return visit, another cracker here.
Ta mate, would head back tomorrow if I could
