the portrait is beautiful........... I think it just needs a little more attention to detail, I don't think the left is adding anything to it as it is so dark, so I would loose that,nd even out some of the lighter patches which are a little distracting if the background was a little more diffused the portrait would stand out even more.

I think it is worth a little more work because the portrait is so engaging and has such a lovely feel to it.

Beautiful portrait, I really like the quiet desaturation. The backfround is full of interest too!

Ref working on the background I think the dark area on the right adds to the overall effect of drawing the eye to the face and frames the girl.
Like my portraits this is semi candid and not a posed studio shot so has 100% realism which I prefer and which works really well.
Well done, fine as it is!

How I wish to capture such portraits.

The gear is in place - the people are in place - the moment escapes me most of the time though.

Will keep on working to achieve similar results.

A big BRAVO to frankiej ...

cheers

A very engaging portrait. So many stories can be read into this image and her eyes. Great stuff!

This is fabby in my view. The fact that the b/g is a bit muddled is ok as it makes the shot "real". Not sure how to fav images as i'm a new boy,but if I did I would.
