It's all about what was in your minds eye and what you were trying to achieve in your image. Tried a modification but again it's all about personal choice.

Dave.

This is a good shot Beckas, - dont quite know how you manage these self portraits so they turn out so well focused.

I think the creases and colour difference in the bottom of the background let it down a little. It benefits greatly from a different crop, adding much more space to the right and top.

Ive done this is a mod, and also did some ironing, - hope you like the mod and it gives you some ideas.

Regards

Willie

Why hello, I was worried about you, now we see nothing to worry about.
You are learning, the pose on this is beautiful, you have sensual and sexual all rolled into one that just gives you an images you just say "mmmmmmmmm".
Your lighting is a tad harsh and can be sorted in photoshop, or get Lightroom 2 and they have a tool in there that is great for this.

Stay in touch.

Hiya Becka,

Another very nice image, I appreciate what Willie is saying but for me its not so much of an issue and I quite like the crop as is, I think it gives the impression that you are turning away rather than turning towards, and as with every photo we look at its personal choice as to what we see and feel. The fact that your pictures are self portraits make them even more amazing, and this one is no different, Nice work.

Ian

Thank you to everyone who has commented and voted, and to those members who have uploaded mods of this photo.

nikon - I love the darkening of the tones on this. Agreed about the white being distracting. I will change that next time.

IFIMAGE - I really love the crop...much better than my crop, and the sepia golden toning and framing is wonderful.

banehawi - Thank your for the mod and for the professional critique (and for reminding me about the rule of thirds). I only used natural light for this photo, and was very close to a window, so I couln't have acheived the same effect without some PS work like you did. Thanks for the "ironing". I think that I need a lession from someone on what the best way to blur a photo is. It has been pointed out to me when I make a mess of blurring. Any suggestions on how to correctly blur would be greatly appreciated.

I like this a lot. I like the way you have created a mood and a look that is different again from your other work. Always a tough one to come up with new ideas.
It is a very sensual photo.
My only niggles would be, you have applied a blur to give that soft look, but you have missed out the leg, which to my eye really stands out, as it is the only bit sharp. Easily fixed.
The cloth around the boob seems to be darker suggesting a cup, which seems to spoil the mood somewhat.
I have tried a mod which solves the sharp leg problem.

Thanks Martin for the great mod and for the excellent critique. You have such a great eye when it comes to details. Maybe some day I will be able to naturally see things in photos like you do.

Words are very unnecessary..." an excellent image a beautiful song my fav dp song also. Great image your picture is almost telling a story, all the emotion is present. If I have to comment...I think the crop is a bit to tight on the right but a beautiful shot.
Ps "words can only do harm..."
