I love the minimal feel to this, and yet, in reality there is a lot going on. I used two ND8 filters to get the right exposure on the water crashing over the rocks at high speed. This left a nice white texture with a hint of blue. It was taken in Banff, near the large waterfall in the centre, a bit tourist attraction, which didn't appeal to me so i wandered further up the river to to get some different shots. I really like the rocks in the distance as well, both rocks remind me of mountain peaks in the snow.
I decided to give it a square crop, removing some highlighted water above and empty space below, i think it works. I edited this in the RAW support for CS3, changed the temperature a little bit and the tint to bring out the original colours that the ND filters removed. Again, i have a lot of similar shots to this, but picked out this one.
