A Eurasian Jay (Garrulus glandarius) perching high up in the trees bordering our garden and looking for an opportunity to take some peanuts from my bird feeder. These birds are so shy they very rarely come close when one is around. The background is dull grey sky and not snow (thank goodness)!

Many thanks for your support of my last upload and a big THANK YOU to Pete, for the HC, Phillip (PhillipMinnis) for the GEA, and Mike(Mike_Smith) and Ed(Glostopcat) for their UAs - all highly appreciated and valued Smile

A beautiful bird whose plumage you have captured in fine detail and very natural colours, and showing up so well against the brighter b/g.
Ronnie.

We copped for a very small flurry the other morning, I just hope it's not indicative of things to come Sad Great looking capture of a difficult to get close too bird.

Looks rather comfortable in the squat position on the branch Sylvia - superb detail - I love the flash of blue on these birds.
