i have been recently shot down by another member for suggesting that backgrounds are important when shooting wildlife especially flight shots..
it is of course a personal preference but my opinion is, if you are in the wrong environment and have aviaries, fences, sheds etc in the bg - exercise some discipline and just do not pick the camera up
PS etc (another humble opinion) is for improving images not attempting to rescue them. Obv 'art' effects etc are a different matter as is composite work - see the work of "K_T" http://www.ephotozine.com/user/k-t-191629

Stunning flight shot of a beautiful bird well done.
Keith.
I agree 100% with you about backgrounds for wildlife.......an odd bird on a fence in a garden or on farmland is OK as long as the area around is uncluttered.......IMHO........but you shouldn't be shot down because your opinion is different to others..that's the problem nowadays........some people think they are always right!!!!
I love your composition on this image......I know where the bird is going.......![]()

Quote: Well done. Where was it taken?
hi 'AlanBullGuernsey, as my regular or longer-term viewers will know, 97.6% of my images are cheats and this is no exception - the critter was flown at one of our own raptor workshops in the Staffordshire/Leicestershire area - see www.sublime-images.co.uk / workshops / raptors / own images or similar for more
