A couple of nights ago we decide to get Fish and chips, then went down by the Swale to eat them. Wasn't long before this fella and some of his mates took an interest. When the kids had had their fill they decided to put some chips on the wall top for them. So i then had a new challenge, this is the first time i've tried to capture birds in flight, think i know what i have done wrong, am still pleased with this first attemptSmile

All C&cs welcome

Thanks for looking

A rather beautiful pair of inflight seabird bribery photographs, which ticks all the right boxes for me.

First time with birds in flight? Starting pretty high on the ladder! Not only very good images of a white bird but a sequence as well.
So you know what you did wrong? Guess you wanted less blur in the wings with higher ISO and speed.
These are very respectable photos. Many may think motion blur is OK. TG

Slightly soft but wonderful shapes, Den. I like the movement in the wings and the background shows the bird of a treat.

Hi Den,
I seriously thought that the blur was intended!
Only later on I read your description and figured out that it was a starter-shot ...
Stunning result for your first attempt, chapeau!!!

Cracking shot !!!....love the wing shapes & slight wing movement which adds to the action...top notch !!

I've tried & failed with in-flight shots, so you can be well proud of this one !!

I'd be inclined to clone out the chip though ??

Thank you one and all for your kind words.

Tony and Meniko, the wing blur i can live with, it's more that the face and head is, for me at least, not crisp enough. Wink But I will definitely try this againSmile

Thanks again

Den
